Description / Background

White marble column surmounted with a decorative urn. The plinth is decorated with floral relief carvings. The memorial is opposite the Gosford Cenotaph in a designated remembrance area.

Inscription

Erected in memory of 'Our Soldiers' who, in South Africa, fell in defence of their nation during the Boer War 1899 - 1902. They obeyed their country's call.

Trooper John Murray of 'Wamberal' 1st November 1900.

Corporal Frank Marcourt Legge of 'Woodport' 20th May 1901.

Trooper Sidney S. Mayo of 'Gosford' 11th March 1902.
