Description / Background

Anzac Park in Gundagai contains several memorials to conflicts in which Australia has been involved. At the entrance is a First World War memorial gate, dedicated on 21 October 1958.

An honour roll for the First and Second World Wars is attached to a monument in the shape of a tree stump. The stump is painted grey, with a green and red laurel wreath hooked over one of its branches. It is positioned on a concrete base, where the granite and marble name plaques are attached. It was unveiled on 25 April 1920.

A memorial grove of trees is also planted in the park, and is accompanied by a Walk of Honour, which comprises of a series of pavers inscribed with the details of individual soldiers.

Also located in the park are several black stone monuments dedicated to individual conflicts, including the Korean War.. A 'Bofors' gun and a Lone Pine tree are also nearby.
