The memorial is a granite plinth with a bronze plaque. It sits on a platform of concrete bricks, in a raised bed of scoria. There is a flagpole behind the plinth.
The memorial is located at the entrance to the Bathurst Sheep and Cattle Drome in Heritage Park. The park property was an Army camp from 1940 until the end of the Second World War.
