AWM pdf file completed by his Uncle states: "he enlisted at the age of 17 years and 9 months. Embarked 23.12.1915 SS Suevic. Served in Egypt with first Australian troopsfoer France and served up til 8 weeks to the signing of the Armistice. Wallac Douglas Lee Cousin killed 9.10.17 and Ernest John Lee Cousin killed 10.04.18." (Both the Cousins are commemorated onn the Bungendore Memorial)



Queanbeyan Age and Queanbeyan Observer 11.04.1919 reported Arthur Roy Abbott 17 Bn was KIA 1918.He was the grandson of the much esteemed resident of Bungendore Mrs John Dunlop…."
