Barmedman Memorial Park was opened on 26 October 1920 in honour of those who served in the First World War. On 11 November 1922 a large grey granite obelisk on a red granite base was unveiled in the park. Names are engraved into the granite and highlighted in gold. The obelisk contains names from the First and Second World Wars and Vietnam. There is a single white flagpole at the entrance to the garden and a green First World War field gun at the rear. There are also two commemorative plaques on the front gate to servicemen who returned and provided their services to the R.S.L and Barmedman community.
