Description / Background

The Bon Marche Honour Roll memorialises the employees of Bon Marche Ltd who served in the First and Second World Wars. It is made of bronze, with incised and raised lettering.

There are two Bon Marche honour rolls on permanent display on the top floor of the Liverpool Library, located on the rear wall.

The two honour rolls from the Liverpool Bon Marche stores were originally mounted in the Bon Marche store in Broadway Sydney. These honour rolls were moved to Liverpool in 1962 when Bon Marche opened a new store and headquarters in George Street, Liverpool. That building is now occupied by Spotlight, opposite the entrance to the Liverpool Library.

These honour rolls were given to the City of Liverpool and District Historical Society in 1995.
