Description / Background

Located in Branxton Park in Branxton, NSW, is an octagonal rotunda, which is the site of the town's Anzac Day commemorative services. It is made of brick and has a tile roof. It is surrounded by a garden bed and two flagpoles flank its entrance.

Attached to the external sides of the rotunda are several marble tablets, which are inscribed with an honour roll for the First World War. Those who were killed in the war have a Maltese cross next to their name. There are also several bronze tablets in memory of the men and women who served in the Second World War.

Standing to the side of the rotunda, is a historic stone obelisk. It was erected in 1905 in memory of Mr. Joseph Bercini, Jnr., an important local citizen and benefactor of the town.

Note on veterans: The Australian War Memorial's Roll of Honour lists Private John Reeves, service number 2433, as killed in action, however he is not marked as such on the memorial.
