Polished wooden Honour Board with gold lettering. The names are in three columns, with a painted Union Jack and Australian flag crossed at the top of the centre column of names. There is roughly one and three-quarters columns for names from the First World War, and the remaining column space for names from the Second World War.

The original location of the Congregational Church is not known, although the records of the deceased veterans listed indicates they were all resident in the Maitland area (see records for C H and R L Proctor, brothers resident in Maitland).

Notes on veteran names:

  • F Rowley-Collier is recorded on the memorial as F R Collier. There is no record of an F R Collier of Australia dying in the First World War. His birth surname is given as Collier on the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) database, together with his serving and married surname of Rowley-Collier.
  • The Australian War Memorial Commemorative Roll indicates S E Peirce received the decorations Military Cross and Mentioned in Dispatches.
  • D J McKay is given on the memorial as J McKay. There is no record of a J McKay of this area dying in the First World War.
  • Status codes for deceased veterans have been taken from information on the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour and Commemorative Roll, the CWGC database and National Archives records.
