Cowra Railway War Memorial

Description

The war memorial fountain consists of a hand holding a grenade with a sprinkler at its apex, above a large tray with four equidistant spouts and a fish pond at ground level.

There are four planting boxes at each corner of the pond with a pebbled area around its perimeter. Two small plaques (one for each world war) with names of rail employees who served in each war are placed at the base of the memorial.

Notes on Veteran Names: No records can be found for a J Mulcahy of this area having died during World War 1 - the status has been left as KIA as that is what is indicated by the memorial. J Jordan is given on the memorial as J Jordon.

The memorial is located on railway land adjacent to Cowra Locomotive Depot, Lachlan Valley Railway.
