Description / Background

The Gordon Great War Roll of Honor is a large, dark timber board, featuring a carved pediment at the top. The veteran names are listed across three columns and gilded.

Additional information by Sydney Trains:

The carved board lists 116 veterans from the Gordon community who served in in the First World War. It was unveiled by the President of Women's Patriotic Society, Mrs Morley, on 3 February1917 and attached to a timber wall of Gordon Train Station (The Sydney Morning Herald, 5 February 1917).

It is currently mounted on a wall near the booking and Station Master's offices. The names are protected by a perspex sheet, which has been attached to the middle of the board. The memorial lies within the heritage listing boundary of the Gordon Railway Station Group.
