Henry Ashford Memorial

Description

Marble column set on a marble plinth. Marble Bible on top of the column which is also draped with a shawl. The shawl partially obscures a laurel wreath. The shawl drapes down the right hand side of the memorial, hanging over a rifle.

Plinth is inscribed: No. 1868 PTE. HENRY, GEORGE, ASHFORD. 57TH BATTALION, 15TH INFANTRY BRIGADE, A.I. FORCES. KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE 23RD NOV 1916 AGED 18 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS. 3RD DEARLY LOVED SON OF J. & E. ASHFORD. ERECTED BY HIS LOVING UNCLE H.W.E. ASHFORD
