Description / Background

The archway and gate pillars are constructed of brick with capping stones across the top of the archway. Affixed to the centre of the archway is a cast bronze dedication plaque. The gates are painted wrought iron.

These gates were erected

by brothers and sisters

in memory of Pte. E. H. Ings.

Died Sandakan Ranau Borneo

24th February 1945. Age 41 yrs
