A tall red-brick tower with enclosed light atop, mounted on a brick and concrete plinth set in the centre of a large ashphalt area at the end of a drive in Crest Park, leading up from the road. An inscribed and polished red-granite plaque is set into the tower. At the entrance to the road is a brick wall identifying the creators of the memorial. The memorial is located on the eastern edge of Lithgow overlooking the town.
To perpetuate the heroism and deeds of the A.I.F. doctors and nurses during the imprisonment by the Nipponese 1942-1945.
