Manilla Captured Field Gun and Machine Gun


A machine gun and a field gun positioned under a rotunda, within Manilla's Rotary Park.

The field gun, which was manufactured in Russia and supplied to the Sultan of Turkey by the Tzar was captured by the Australian Light Horse during the desert campaign in Palestine, and men from the local area were involved in these campaigns.


These guns were captured by the 33rd Battalion on the Western Front in the Great War 1914-1918
