Meadowbank WW1 Memorial

Description

This memorial is one of the three components of the Memorial Park War Memorials. It is a stone obelisk engraved with the names of World War 1 veterans from the Meadowbank and West Ryde areas, set on three stone steps and enclosed by a small sandstone, rosemary and privet edge.The park is adjacent to the Parramatta River near the Meadowbank ferry wharf.

Inscription

For King and Country. Erected by the residents of Meadowbank and West Ryde in honour of those who fell and fought in the Great War 1914 – 1919 (south face); Gallipoli (east face); MCMXXI (north face); France (west face).
