Description / Background

 

Five timber panels, each with a list of names of veterans, initials and surname in gold lettering. The names of the veterans are not in alphabetical order. Two of the panels have inscriptions.

Each of the panels has the name of the mayors who served on the Municipal Council of Waterloo during the First World War - Thomas Danks (1) (Mayor 1915), Stephen Whitehurst (3) (Mayor 1916-1917) and Charles Joseph Lenton (1) (Mayor 1917-1919).

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his Life for his friends
