Description / Background

Roselands War Memorial comprises a pale yellow brick plinth structure on a concrete slab with a single white masonry column in the centre. There are two plaques on the front of the memorial, and plantings within the plinth. There are no veteran names listed. The memorial faces a circular rose garden. On the other side of the rose garden directly opposite is a sculpture/fountain that is uninscribed but appears to relate to the memorial.

The memorial is located in the park adjoining Roselands Aquatic Centre, near Roselands Shopping Centre and Bowling Club.

Municipality of Canterbury

This memorial was erected to honour the men and women of this Municipality whose service in the defence forces has helped to preserve the security and freedom of Australia. J.D. Wheeler Town Clerk A.W. Mulder Mayor. 

Plaque 2:

Municipality of Canterbury

This memorial was dedicated by Reverend R. O. Walder on Armistice Day, 11th November 1967 J.D. Wheeler Town Clerk A.W. Mulder Mayor.
