Sister Wyllie was killed in action at sea, off the coast of Brisbane, Australia. She was on board 2/3 Australian Hospital Ship Centaur when it was sunk by a Japanese submarine. 

She was commemorated with a communion table and fittings donated to the War Memorial Chapel at St Peter's Church of England in Darlinghurst, NSW in 1944. The whereabouts of these items is unknown.
