Description / Background

Two brass vases in memory of the Gallagher brothers, who enlisted on the same day and served together until their deaths. Private Francis Joseph Gallagher died of wounds on 4 October 1917 and Private Frederick Arthur Gallagher was killed in action at Passchendaele Ridge on 5 October 1917. The vases are identical, and have a height of 12 inches, a diameter at the top of 3.5 inches and 4.5 inches at the base.

To the Glory of God and in memory of Private Fred Gallagher, killed in action Oct 5th 1917
