Description / Background

Sandstone shrine, containing a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and topped with a stone cross. The inscription and names are engraved on marble plaques which are attached to the sandstone base. The maker's name, Bailey & Baumer, is recorded on the sandstone plinth.

The memorial is situated in front of the church and is visible from the roadway. The nearest cross street is Camp Street.

Erected in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes to perpetuate the memory of the members of St Brendan's Congregation who joined the A.I.F. for service in the Great World War 1914 – 1918
