Description / Background

The memorial is a large bushrock with a memorial plaque attached. It is positioned on top of a platform with a flagpole behind it. Nearby are three guns on carriages, with each gun pointing out in a different direction.

The area surrounding the memorial is fenced off, and includes several old train cars which act as the offices for the NSW Vietnam Veterans Association.

In 2016, the memorial was upgraded. The entire memorial area was raised and significant embedded lighting installed to clearly and separately illuminate both the Catafalque Party members and the memorial stone. The approach also had been paved with an ‘eternal flame’ stencilled in the concrete.

The memorial is located next to the St Marys RSL Club.
