Description / Background

This two storey memorial hall was established in honour of those who served in the First World War. The foundation stone was laid on 24 October 1923, and the hall was opened around May 1925.

The hall is the site for Anzac Day commemorative services. The Anzac Day March starts at nearby MacKnight Park, with a brief service and the raising of the Australian flag at the Urana and District Honour Roll. The march is led by members of the R.A.A.F., ex-service personnel, school children, and community members. It then proceeds to the hall, where patrons are seated for the official speeches and wreath laying.

Inside the hall are honour rolls for the district. It is locked at all times, except for commemorative celebrations or private functions. A key is available from the Federation Council's office in Urana.
