Driver Tozer was killed in action by German shellfire while delivering rations to his unit near Passchendaele on 12 October 1917. He is buried in the Tyne Cot British Cemetery, 5.25 miles north-east of Ypres, Belgium, in Plot 19, Row B, Grave No 4.
