Description / Background

The memorial is an obelisk of polished grey granite. It is positioned on a two-step pedestal, also made of granite. The whole is supported by a freestone pillar base. Two sides of the memorial are inscribed with dedications and honour rolls for those who served in the First and Second World Wars. All the inscriptions on the memorial are highlighted in gold. 

The memorial is located approximately 100 metres south of Morpeth Street in Wallalong, on the west side of the street, atop on a small hill. It is approximately 2km north of the Hinton Bridge over the Paterson River at Hinton.
