Description / Background

The Operating Theatre Wing of the Uniting War Memorial Hospital is dedicated to individuals who served in the First World War, and particularly to "the boys of the 21st [and] 22nd Battalions of the Waverley-Woollahra Senior Cadets who returned not". A dedication plaque featuring an honour roll is located at the entrance to the hospital's 'Edina' building, on the right-hand side pillar. The plaque was unveiled at the opening of the hospital on 11 November 1922.

The Edina building is surrounded by numerous hospital buildings, a garden/park directly opposite the building, as well as areas for gathering between the elderly and staff.

The Uniting War Memorial Hospital is a large collection of buildings, situated between Birrel Street and Bronte Road. The hospital is operated by the Uniting Church.
