Description / Background

In the village of Yeoval, NSW, is a large memorial hall built from bricks and timber. It is dedicated to those who served in the First and Second World Wars. The foundation stone for the hall was laid on 17 July 1948 and the hall was opened later that year on 10 September.

Attached to the front exterior wall, near the front doors, are three granite rolls of honor. They are for the First and Second World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam. The names and inscriptions are highlighted in gold.

The original version of the First World War roll was unveiled on 18 October 1918. In 2015, the roll was updated with eight extra names, and was unveiled on 25 April. The rolls for the Second World War were first unveiled on 25 April 1953.
