Description / Background

The memorial is a large timber honour roll made of polished Queensland maple. The names of members of the Mosman Rowing Club who served and those who were killed during the First World War are listed in gold lettering across three columns on the honour roll. The board is a simple classic design topped with a classical pediment, with supporting shelves at the top and bottom and plain columns framing each side.

The honour roll was made by Beard Watson Ltd, retailer and manufacturer of high-class furnishings. The Mosman Rowing Club was the youngest rowing club in NSW at the outbreak of the First World War and  had  78 members who volunteered for active service (Sunday Times, 9 November 1919).

Currently located at Mosman Rowers, Mosman Bay. To be relocated when building is completed.
