The Lone Pine tree is located in Remembrance Place, Murwillumbah and a memorial plaque is located close by. This tree was planted by Mr Arthur Flanagan, President of the Murwillumbah RSL Sub-Branch, on Remembrance Day, 11 November 2001.
Lone Pine trees have been planted throughout Australia in memory of those who served at Gallipoli in the First World War.

Aleppo Pine
(Pinus halepensis)
A descendant from the Lone Pine Ridge tree at
Gallipoli brought back to Australia in 1915.
Legacy was formed after WWI to care for
widows and dependents of Australian servicemen
who paid the supreme sacrifice or died later.
