It has two identical wings, joined vertically down the middle. Both wings have a Gothic-shaped design at the top, and simple carving. The names are painted in black in the centre of each board, below the inscriptions painted in gold. The present St Matthew's Anglican Church, where the roll is located, was rebuilt following a tornado on 26 October 2017. There were two earlier churches which were also damaged by storms. Access to the memorial is restricted by the opening hours of the church.
