Description / Background

This framed photographic honour roll is titled 'Strathfield Station Services Staff'. It displays 13 photographs of servicemen in uniform, with their names underneath, as well as a British War Medal and a Victory Medal awarded to Gunner Leslie Ryan (service number 2242, no photograph displayed).

This board forms part of the State-owned S170 protected collection, known as the RailCorp Moveable Heritage Collection. It is currently stored at the Igloo, Chullora Railyards. It may have been made by NSW Government Railways staff after the First World War and then hung somewhere at Strathfield Station, although no records supporting this have been found.
