The Manilla Express, 17 November 1919, reported: "A meeting of residents of Rushes Creek has decided to erect an Honor Roll in Baldwin Public school. The board will contain the name of old pupils of the school and teachers who served in the Great War. Mr Fuller (the teacher) has already sent for the Honor Roll."
The honour roll was completed by January 1920 and was in view in one of the windows of Messrs M.C. Mackenzie and Sons Ltd.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Wednesday 24 March 1920; the Reverend WA Thompson delivered the address and the unveiling ceremony was performed by Miss Coote.
The honour roll contains fourteen names; four of whom were teachers, that is, Messrs Farrell, Fuller, Gross and Sullivan.
The school children collected the funds for the honour roll.
Baldwin School was a provisional school January 1900 to June 1901; a public school July 1901 to June 1904; half-time with Lake Keepit July 1904 to July 1910; provisional school October 1910 to October 1925; half-time with Lake Keepit January 1926 to June 1928; provisional school April 1935 to September 1942.
