Description / Background

The foundation stone for the Guildford Soldiers' Memorial School of Arts was laid on 3 June 1933. The building was opened on 7 October 1933. Attached to the facade is a sandstone feature wall bearing an honour roll for the First World War, which was unveiled at the opening. Two additional roll tablets for the Second World War have been added at a later date.
