Awarded the Military Medal, British War Medal, and Victory Medal.

'On the 18th September 1918 at VENDELLES the 106th Battery was firing in a barrage when No. 1 gun came under heavy fire and was put out of action. Corporal CORBETT despite the fact that the gun was under heavy fire and regardless of his own safety worked on the gun unaided until it was again in action. Later in the day when the battery had moved forward it was several times under bursts of fire. CORBETT displayed the greatest coolness and bravery throughout the whole period, going round his guns inspecting them and keeping them in order under hostile shelling. His conduct throughout the day was of the highest order and his coolness and determination were an excellent example to the others.'
