Charles Henry Day was born at Emu Plains to John and Ann Day on 4 May 1890. He was baptised later that year at St Pauls Anglican Church, Emu Plains.

On 9 November 1918, he was admitted to the 4th Australian Field Ambulance and then transferred the same day to the 3rd Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, France. He died on the 15 November of bronchial pneumonia and is buried at Abbeville Communal Cemetery.
