The Hickey brothers attended Mt Elliott School. Their father, Andrew snr, came to the mountain as a gold seeker. They lived at Mt Elliott and, after the war, Andrew may have bought Edwin Scammell’s at Khancoban and then a soldier settler block at Upper Towong, but he left the area for Wangaratta in the '20s.
