Father Andrew, mother Eliz Scammell, worked on John Mitchell's at 'Indi'. Ossie was born at 'Indi', siblings: Col, Norm, Ben (b. 1928 on 'Inglara', Indi), Doris & Molly.

As small as a jockey, a good rider, lived at Biggara, attended Mt Elliott School and bought Carney's soldier selection in 1927-72, purchased by Len and Betty Lebner, now owned by Rod & Lois Wild on its own 5 acres.

'Little' Ossie was single, a horse judge and died in Corryong nursing home in the 1980s.

He had a cousin, 'Curley' Ossie, who was a jockey, who lived in Corryong.
