1. Listed Bungendore War Memorial Hall WW1 ROH (1917) but no mention of "KIA" and Bygone Queanbeyan  as, "KIA Dardanelles 1915 (B)".

2. “MAPPING ANZACS”: Service Number: 492;POB: Bungendore; POE: Kensington,NSW: NOK: Sister. Mrs A.Yates; Occupation:Railway Fireman.  

3. AWM Nominal Roll: Rank:Private; Age:21 ; Unit: 3 Battalion ; DOE:27.08.1914 ; Embarked:Sydney.20.10.1914.HMAT Euripides. A14 ; KIA 25.04.1915.Buried Quinns Post ,Gallipoli,Turkey.           .    

4. First Bungendorian to be killed at Gallipoli.  

5 .Carnell was originally recorded on the Bungendore Memorial as Enlisted and Returned however this was rectified in August 2014  and he is now recorded as having been KIA.

Possibly killed in the evening, falling in a counterattack at Courtney’s Post. Buried in a cemetery at what become known as Quinn’s Post. The epitaph of his gravestone is, To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.

7. Palerang Council gave notice in the Bungendore Mirror 01 July 2015 that it intended to use the road name of  Carnell Close in  Lot 23 DP 61583 4- 33 Trucking Yard Lane Bungendore  (DA 2011.338) .Origin of the name cited as being commemorated on the Bungendore Memorial Roll of Honour.

8. Commemorated on the Australian War Memoprial Roll of Honour Panel 13.

9. Application to use Rising Sun Badge: On the 3rd of November 2015 the Bungendore War Memorial Committee applied to Army Branding to use the Rising Sun badge on the "Carnell Close" street sign in the town of Bungendore as part of the Centenary of ANZAC Commemorations.This request was approved on 21 December 2015.
