5.Australian Dictionary of Biography (http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/donnelly-john-francis-5996) contains an article on John Francis Donnelly (1885-1962 ) by K.R.White.Arrived Gallipoli 28.06.1915,wounded within a week and ex-vacuated.On return he was commissioned as a Second Lt in the 9 Bn on 4 August.In France he was subsequently promoted to Major in March 1917.He was awarded the DSO in June 1917 and was also Mentioned in Despatches three times during the war.He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on 17 February 1919 and commanded the 1st Pioneer Battalion until its abandonment.On RTA he returned to Bungendore and became an auctioner.he died of cancer on 18.09.1962 and was buried in Canberra.
