1. No "D. Griffith or Griffiths" listed Bygone Queanbeyan howver a "Kevin Griffiths " is listed although not specifically identified as ( Bungendore).Not listed on the Bungendore War Memorial ROH. Listed as "Griffith D" on Collinson "Final List". 2.There are a number of "Griffiths" on the DVA Nominal Roll who were born in Bungendore and one of whom Enlisted in Bungendore. None of whom are recorded on the Bungendore War Memorial. 3.Could be Dudley Kevin Griffith (not Griffiths) as the most likely "D" on the DVA Nominal Roll whose details are as follows: DATE/POB:11.02.1911/Dalgety,NSW;DATE/POE:9.2.1942/ Dalgety,NSW;LOCALITY ON ENLISTMENT:Dalgety,NSW;NOK:Madge Griffith; DISCHARGE DATE /UNIT :25.09.1945/15 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps Part Time Duty. 4.National Archive Australia file not Open.Father presumed to be Darcy Joseph Griffiths who Stephenson reports was burried in Bungendore 29.04.1964 and was survived by a son Dudley (Berridale and D'arcy (Coonamble).Death Notice for Dudley Kevin in the SMH dated 27.6.1988 noted him as brother to D'arcy and husband of Madge. 5.DVA record requires amendment to record surname as GRIFFITHS with an "S".Name on the Bungendore Memorial is deemed to be incorrect and has therefore been recorded for the Register on War Memorials in NSW as "Griffiths" to facilitate any record search by interested parties.
