6.Queanbeyan Age 23.01.1917 :Bungendore News reported,          " public send-off was accorded Pte R.Woodfield in the Hall on Thursday night. This lad is only 18 years of age and an only son. There was a very good attendance.The Rev Mr Champion and Mr Dibdes spoke and the latter made a presentation amidst cheers.Pte Woodfield suitably replied. The local band was in attendance and greatly added to the success..".
