Born in South Benfleet, UK in 1886. Enlisted 9/7/1916. Declared 'illegal absentee' on 2/12/1916. Detention for 6 months and sent to UK on 19/7/1917 for trial. Sent to hospital with VD on 31/7/1917. AWL in France on 31/1/1918. Missing in action in France 5/4/1918.
