Enlisted 24 August 1914, aged 24. He was a Pattern Maker working at the Eveleigh Railway Workshops. Also a well known wrestler. KIA at Gallipoli. It is uncertain as to whether the Bulmer brothers attended St Mary's. Although born locally they lived for some time in Victoria. Their parents divorced toward the end of the war and their mother moved back to Balmain East, living for some time at 87 Darling Street (next door to the church) and later at Pearson Street. The Bulmer brothers are not listed on the Honour Board.
