Veteran Notes/Bio

A marble memorial tablet for Private Lown is also located within St Mary's. Private Lown was an active member of St Mary's and was the assistant secretary and librarian of St Mary's Sunday School. Private Lown reported to family KIA but subsequently as only wounded. Letter from a comrade at the front confirmed to the family that he had in fact been KIA (gun shot to the head). An AIF investigation was unable to find out why the error had occurred. Last known address: 200 Darling Street
