Enlisted August 1915. He was active in the church and died with his Prayer Book and Bible. He was killed outright by an exploding shell as he was about to take up guard. A further shell explosion covered his body, which was never found. A marble memorial tablet for Private Mazey is also located within St Mary's. A memorial service was held at St Mary's for Private Mazey. He died aged 20. Last known address: 28 Grafton Street
