In the field in France from December 1916 to December 1918. Invalided out with 'Effort Syndrome' a heart related / nervous illness caused by prolonged mental strain, lack of sleep and (usually) toxaemia. Medically discharged. Within weeks of his return home his father wrote to the AIF saying his son was 'insane', threatening to kill the family and needed to be restrained for his own safety. Last known address: 10 Mary Street (Rozelle)
