Enlisted aged 20 in May 1918. Son of the Minister of St Mary's (from 1915 onwards) the Reverend Stanley Best. Was not posted as found to have a heart condition. Medically discharged in July 1918. Last known address: St Mary's Rectory, 2 Pearson Street
