Description / Background

The town of Cudgen in north-eastern NSW have planted this single pine tree in memory of the Unknown Australian Soldier. It is located in Crescent Street and is accompanied by a metal plaque on a metal stand, positioned at the base of the tree. 

The Australian War Memorial's website states "the Unknown Australian Soldier represents all Australians who have been killed in war." A number of trees have been planted throughout Australia to commemorate the Unknown Soldier.

The Cudgen Second World War Memorial Avenue and Cudgen Lone Pine are also located on Crescent Street.
