Description / Background

A four-faced clock, mounted atop a large white-painted tower into which four white marble plaques are inset. Veterans' names are inscribed on the plaques and blackened. Above each plaque is a green painted laurel wreath and words to signify whether the plaques refer to First or Second World War veterans. The whole monument is mounted on three rectangular steps. A low metal chain fence attached to low pillars, surround the memorial on the top step. 

The monument was originally dedicated on 25 April 1926, with the clock addition being dedicated on 11 November 1965.

The memorial is located on a roundabout at the intersection of Pine Avenue, Chelmsford Place, Wade Avenue South and Kurrajong Avenue.

Note about veterans' names: In the below table the abbreviation DOS for Died on Service has been used.

Leeton Sub-Branch RSSAILA

with public subscription

and was unveiled by

Sir Iven Mackay,

KBE, CMG, DSO and Bar, Croix de Guerre, Greek MC

and dedicated on 11th November 1965.
