Inscription

In this Book of Remembrance are inscribed the names of 753 Members of Leeton and District who served in the active forces of The Australian Army during World War II 1939-1945.

To them this Book is dedicated by the Citizens of the Town and District who remember their service abroad with a feeling of great pride and their safe and victorious return with a sense of deep satisfaction.

As a tribute to them for loyalty and devotion to duty to our Sovereign and to our great Commonwealth and so that their deeds may be continually remembered the Book is accorded a permanent place in the District’s Memorial Shrine which itself is a monument to commemorate the splendid heroism of all who from the District of Leeton served with our Forces abroad in World War II.
