Description / Background

This monument is a large granite stone block set on a square brickwork base. It is located in Central Park, Armidale. There is one plaque attached to the stone and one to the brickwork in the front of the stone.

On 9 February 2003, a severe storm cancelled the procession to the monument for the dedication. It was later redesigned and rededicated on 12 February 2012.

The National Service period covered 1951 to 1972, and involved the Navy, Army and Air Force.
